CSK Banned Brom IPL For Spot Fixing
According to the sources, CSK was banned from IPL for Spot Fixing. In the 2013 season of IPL, many were talking about betting as well as spot-fixing activities.
Moreover, on the day of the finale in 2013, Gurunath Meiyappan was arrested. Sources say that he got arrested on the charges of spot-fixing. Raj Kundra, who is the owner of the Rajasthan Royals franchise faced with same allegations.
In July 2015, the Supreme Court of India appointed a committee of three members which was headed by former Chief Justice of India, R M Lodha.
The committee talked about the betting and match-fixing activities and Justice Lodha Committee announced a ban on two Indian Premier League cricket teams that is Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals for two years.
Thus, these two teams were not allowed to play in 2016 and 2017. On the other hand, Gurunath Meiyappan of Chennai Super Kings and Raj Kundra of Rajasthan Royals suffered a life ban from all the cricket matches conducted by BCCI.
