Jos Buttler, The Proud White-Ball Captain Has To Share Something With The World
As we all know, Jos Buttled has been a member of England’s white-ball teams for over a decade. Plus, he has been the vice-captain of Eion Morgan since 2015.
He recently said that he feels honored after he was named as England’s new white-ball captain in succession to World Cup-winning skipper Morgan.
On Thursday, June 30, a dynamic 31-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman appointment was confirmed by the Wales and England Cricket boards.

This happened just after 2 days when Morgan announced his retirement from international cricket.
Apart from this, Buttles has already led England 14 times across both Twenty20 formats as well as one-day international. This also includes their most recent ODI against the Netherlands when Morgan was ruled out with a groin injury.
As of now, Buttler is ready to take charge of 12 games in July 2022 with ODI and T20 series which will be held against South Africa and India.
The T20 World Cup in Australia, which is set to be held in October 2022, is going to be his first major global event as a skipper. And next year, with England defending their 50-over crown in India.
When Buttler was named as the skipper, he first thanked Morgan for being an outstanding leader in overseeing England’s white-ball revival. It also follows their embarrassing first-round exit at the 2015 World Cup.
Buttler also shared that he had learned a lot from Morgan. In an ECB statement, he revealed, “It is a great honor to take over from Eoin and the place he has left English white-ball cricket in is exciting, and I’m inspired for the challenges ahead.
It is the greatest honor to captain your country. I can’t wait to take this team forward.”
Furthermore, Buttler was also nominated as the captain by the director of men’s cricket Rob Key. Besides, Stokes has been a multi-format all-rounder in his entire career in the England team.

As of now, he is taking a break from the white ball game to focus on his Test duties. However, he is ready to serve under the leadership of Butter in the future.
Stokes shared while speaking during the Covid-delayed Test series finale against India at Edgbaston, “He was the obvious choice to take over from Morgs and I am really looking forward to playing a few games under him.”

Buttler was last seen in the IPL and played a Test against Australia in Sydney in January. And till now, he has compiled 4,120 runs from 151 ODIs, including 10 hundred.
