Today that moment has come for which everyone was waiting for months. Recently, the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) named Sourav Ganguly passed a statement that the 2022 Asia Cup will be held in the United Arab Emirates rather than Sri Lanka.
On 27th July, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) confirmed that the 2022 Asia Cup will be organized in UAE from 27th August to 11th September.

The major reason behind this shift is the prevailing situation that Sri Lanka is going through. Sri Lanka has been suffering from an economic crisis and political turmoil. It’s not a joke to host any tournament in the country.
The president of ACC named Jay Shah revealed that the venue changing decision of the Asia Cup from Sri Lanka to UAE was taken after so much deliberation. Every possible effort was made by Sri Lanka, but they are unable to do so.

Previously, in the month of March, Sri Lanka got the green light from ACC to host the Asia Cup 2022. Even though they were supposed to host the 2020 edition, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the tournament got delayed and came to 2022.
And this time also they lose the opportunity but stay positive as maybe they will get another big chance!
About The Asia Cup Tournament Of 2022 And 2018!
This time, six teams will be participating in Asia Cup which will be played as a Twenty20 tournament. Each and every team will battle with each other to win the tournament and maybe the Indian team will take the opportunity as they already won one Asia Cup in UAE.
All the six teams participating in the upcoming tournament are India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka and the last one is from the host country UAE.
Moreover, it’s not the first time when UAE is hosting the Asia Cup as the latest edition of the 2018 Asia Cup tournament was also hosted in the same.
The 14th edition of the Asia Cup consisted of One Day Internationals where India were the defending champions and maintained their title after beating Bangladesh by three wickets.
